NFL Week 14
Philadelphia Eagles (11-1) at New York Giants (7-4-1), 1:00 p.m. Sunday

The Line: Eagles minus-7/Total: 45

What is the line telling you:

The Eagles head to the Meadowlands for a Week 14 NFC East Divisional matchup with the G-Men. The Birds are 11-1, but have no room for error as Minnesota and Dallas are creeping behind. The Eagles are minus-7 point favorites and have owned this matchup going 14-5 in the last decade. Though New York has been able to scrap their way to a 7-4-1 record, they have not been good as of late going 1-3-1 over the last four weeks. Now, they face their toughest matchup of the season. The strength of the Eagles team starts with their dominant offensive line that has bullied opponents and has dominated both third-and-short, and fourth-and-short. With Leonard Williams doubtful and likely out, this presents a huge problem for a Giants defense, which is ranked 30th in opponent yards-per-carry, giving up 5.1 yds. In order for the Giants to stay in this game, they will have to win the time of possession, but with Saquon Barkley’s status up in the air, that will be no easy task.

Bottom line: Everything in this game is pointing to the Birds. They have to keep their foot on the gas to secure that No. 1 seed, and the metrics are overwhelmingly in their favor. Unless the Giants’ coach Brian Daboll can come up with a master game plan, Philly should cover the spread in this one.
