ThrivePHILADELPHIA – The Eagles and Arizona Cardinals agreed to a pre-draft trade tied to tampering allegations involving Jonathan Gannon.

The former Philadelphia defensive coordinator was hired as the head coach in Arizona after Super Bowl LVII but the Cardinals were taking to him after the NFC Championship game, a no-no. The two teams agreed on the settlement over the impermissible contact by Arizona.

The Cards self-reported a phone conversation between GM Monti Ossenfort and Gannon in the days following the NFCCG win over San Francisco.

To resolve the matter between the two clubs, the Cardinals and Eagles agreed to swap third-round picks in the 2023 NFL Draft and the Cardinals receive Philadelphia’s fifth-round selection in 2024. The Eagles move from No. 94 to No. 66 in the third round.
